Hopefully this is the correct forum.

I don't play my vinyl LPs any more so it seems sensible to sell them.

Has anyone had any experience of trade buyers? My collection is mainly 70s Rock.

I sold my late mate's vinyl on eBay. You'd get more selling them individually, but it's some work.

Had an unlikely result too.

He had the "Never Mind the bks" Sex Pistols LP. When I looked at his it had a plain back cover with no track listings.

Quite rare apparently, sold well.

Have you got a list of the Artistes? Might be folks on here interested in some of them.

If you want an idea of values, look on https://www.discogs.com if you think any of them may be worth something. It will help so you can see if they are rare and you could possibly get in touch with one of the traders on there.

I’d be interested as a private buyer/collector but not sure if I’m allowed to say that.

Discogs is the way to go in terms of finding min/median/max values, and you can export it to send to a dealer.

Don’t know where you are, but vinyl cafe in Carlisle has a good reputation. Obviously if you sell to a dealer they will price in their own profit.

Thanks all. I don't want to fall foul of the forum rules and end up getting banned so not sure how far I can go with publishing a list/sales.

One caution re avoiding dealers.

There’s a potential world of pain with amateurs selling vinyl as the grading system is fairly subjective and people don’t need to go out of their way to be dicks still to have genuine disagreements on the state of both discs and covers. Returns and disputes can get expensive.

There's various buying/selling groups on Facebook.
I sold my entire rock collection to a Polish guy from the north west of England, can't recall exactly, possibly Windsford. He was a trader, I think he had a wanted ad on Gumtree or Facebook or somewhere.
He gave me a very good price.
Sorry I can't be more helpful
