I really ought to know this, but I don’t.

I’ve got a Rega P3, Audiolab 6000, KEF speakers and a REL sub, along with about 700 LPs.

My 13 year old, who lives with her mum, would like a turntable for Christmas. I think her mum is thinking of one of those all in one Crossley things, which ain’t going to happen if she wants to borrow any of my LPs, so I’m looking at us combining some of our overall Xmas budget (it would live at her mums) and getting her something at least reasonably decent.

Her mums budget I think would probably be about £100, I’d be fine with adding a max of £300 to that, ideally including some albums (she loves things like Lana del Rey etc).

I’m not 100% sure if she is properly into it, so a turntable with Bluetooth and a decent Bluetooth speaker(s) would seem appropriate, so she can either use the Bluetooth speakers or her Bluetooth headphones (latter already owned).

Other than second hand stuff, this seems to fit turntable wise - it’s automatic, belt drive and has a phono stage should she decide to upgrade. I already have a JBL Flip she can have which would cover speakers, at least for the moment until she works out if she’s actually really into it.

Any thoughts? She would of course also be able to stream to the JBL.

How about a Funk Firm Gett!/Goldring E3/Achromat - £225?

Sitting in a box, not doing much after an upgrade.

Sadly I am skint and can’t afford the necessary amp and speakers that would even do it justice. A lovely offer though, thank you.

Bought an Audio-Technica LP60XBTBK earlier this year as a present, sounded good to my cloth ears.

Was £164 from Amazon, I guess they'll go down to somewhere similar for Black Friday.
