Soundbar to the rear
Discussion
Your ears/brain are really good at telling where sound is coming from, a sound bar behind you will sound really odd, and weird I suspect.
Even on the most fancy multi speaker setup, the rear speakers are the ones that usually do very little, and only very occasionally the main speakers producing most of the sound.

If it was behind you, it would need to be facing rearwards otherwise the left / right channels would be swapped... so no. Plus you'd need a huge HDMI lead running around the room.
Many soundbars come with wall brackets. Alternatively you can buy mounts to hold a soundbar below the TV (or above it). Just make sure you read the instructions for the soundbar as mine says you should leave a 5cm gap above it. I'm sure there are basic soundbars which will tolerate being fixed directly under the telly and still sound 10x better than something behind you.
