Dap and headphone question

I have a A&k dap arriving tomorrow ,my existing headphones are Sony xm4 , but I can’t find an answer to this question ,
If I connect by wire which is my intention does the headphone dac turn off if the headphones are turned on ? I know if I keep the headphones turned off I can ensure I am using the dap dac but the volume will be very low ?
I know I can turn the Noise cancelling off but can’t see any way of turning the headphone dac off .

I don't think you can turn the DAC off in the Sonys

If you don't turn them on and hardwire it, that's the only way but they are very quiet as you say.

Turn them on and the DACs on.

I've got the XM3s. Same issue.
