Current pick of the mid range 50" ?
Discussion
Our 3 year old Samsung QE50 has just died. Its got JL guarantee, but thats subbed out and they ar e making life very awkward, and not likely yo have it repaired within a few weeks.
Not sure I trust another Samsung tbh
Thinking about buying new, and then selling the other one if/when it gets repaired ?

I'm a big panasonic fan.
Have a 10 year old 42" still going strong, recently gave away a beautiful high end 65" plasma that was also 10 years plus and also have a 2 year old 4K 58" LCD which was £330 from Richer Sounds.
The picture looks brilliant to me albeit Google OS sometimes is a bit st so rarely use, preferring a roku stick.

Go Sony, 5 year guarantee. John Lewis replaced one of our 50'' with no quibbles after 3 years when a subtle blue line appeared across the screen.
The 43' Sony in our kitchen gave up after 5 1/2 years so they are still built to a timeframe these days (12 year old Sony lcd still going strong in our bedroom) but the only Samsung we've had lasted 14 months and was then told by their after care they didntt care that it broke 2 months after the sale date for a £1500 tv as they had plenty more customers to make up for the ones that had a bad experience like us so refused to contribute to any repairs.
I am not sure how you can recommend Sony when you've had two that have both broken out of three? Go into Richer Sounds & have a play with the various models to see which interface you prefer - LG are pretty good. Not sure I trust another Samsung tbh
