Nobsound Mini Bluetooth Power Amplifier- anything better?
Discussion
I've got some quite large Mordaunt Short speakers that haven't been used for many many years.
They don't have their own power source or amp. Is this the best option to enable them to be connected to my phone for music?

I took a punt on one of those a few years ago. Think it cost rather less than 40 quid. Anyway, given how tiny and cheap the thing is, it is pretty damn good. It produces a bit of mains hum, and I've thought about cleaning up its power supply a bit to see if I can reduce that. As a way of getting an old pair of speakers back into use with a phone or PC as a data source, it's pretty good.
It does say "blue tooth mode" in a rather silly accent when you switch it on, though.

There's a million options of bluetooth and wireless DACs, plus a million options of ampifiers.
Those Nobsound things are great value though.
You can get better, you can even find cheaper options.
A while back I had a bluetooth amp in my garage driving a pair of old speakers and it did a pretty good job for about 4 quid!
I replaced it with a car head unit which came my way, which has the advantage of a USB slot for stored music.
Works better for me, doesn't fall over whenever I leave the building with my phone.

Well I must say I'm impressed.
I noticed through Google targeted news content that Denon and Marranrz also sell one for 700-1000$
