Our stream puck works perfectly well be we’re really fed up with Sky’s price increases particularly mid term. In our last house we had Freesat which worked really well. We didn’t want a satellite dish in our new house so tried Freeview which was awful in comparison with limited stations and functions.

Is there an equivalent to Freesat that works through broadband? We want to able to view and either record (prefer) or stream on demand our favourite stuff. We also want to be able to view a standard tv menu as below. Would Apple TV fit the bill?

Have you looked at the EE version. It might be worth calling into the shops for a demo.

The Freeview channel list is usually pretty similar to the Freesat channel list, do you live in an area with limited Freeview coverage?

Which channels do you watch?

Skys EPG has always been one of the best, the EE/BT EPG is not bad, not as good as Sky but still ok. I have a Humax/BT box which has Freeview, I don't have a subscription. It works very well, has all the recording options and all the basic streaming options.
