Hi all,

I volunteer on a PTA & the school have asked for a portable speaker that's battery powered for events the PTA run & also for use in the school when they run events. We also do something called wake up shake up which gets the kids dancing around before school starts (primary school kids) and will be used for that too

I'll be honest I know nothing about speakers but we know it needs to be battery powered & it needs to have some microphones with it. It will be used 80% of the time outside for streaming music or speaking to direct people or tell them things.

The teacher who requested it has reccomended this one

I was wondering if anyone knows this domain well and can tell me if its good & fairly future proof or if there's better & cheaper alternates out there we should consider.

Re budget £310 will be the highest we go (given this is £309)

Klipsch with its Gig XXL, Sony with its SRS SV800 and LG with its X Boom, all make these sort of speakers at a reasonable price with a battery life of around 20 hrs. Some have a microphone others have jacks to accept these and all stream from your phone.
