I bought a Sonos Arc & a mini sub this weekend, followed all the app instructions to set them up but the app is saying the arc & sub are unregistered & I need to factory reset them, I done that & tried again, only to have the same issue again.

The Arc is giving me sound but the sub isn’t doing anything, spent a couple of hours trying to sort it out today, with no luck, would anyone have any idea of what I might be doing wrong?

Are they new or second hand components? If second hand, there's a chance you need to transfer system ownership within the Sonos app.

If new - are they properly registered?

Both items are brand new, spoke to Sonos support this morning, they got me to connect the arc to an Ethernet cable, the arc & the sub both needed an update, which I was told had caused the issue I was having.

All resolved now, great bit of kit.

Sonos support is right up there with Dyson and Apple (once you get through to a UK support desk @Apple)
If you are using it for your TV look out for pair of 2nd hand Play Ones and set them up as your rear surrounds, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, I contacted Sonos support on Monday & they were very helpful, talked me through everything.

Funnily enough, I’ve just been looking at some Sonos One SL speakers to use as rears, they’re discounted on the Sonos website at the moment, would they be any good??

They’d be perfect. The SLs just don’t have voice control which you don’t need if you’re using them as part of a system.

If they are going behind you raising them off the ground is best. There are some 3rd party Sonos One stands that do the trick nicely and considerably cheaper than the official Sonos stands.
