sony xm4 headphone owners help

new owner of some xm4 , also new to Bluetooth and phone app use with headphones

so i can see on the phone app i can use the EQ when listening via the phone , i mostly use my laptop can i play with the EQ on the phone while listening to the laptop? or does it only work via the phone?

so even if i set a e.q tune while on the phone , any other device is default/flat sound?

I have the xm3's but never tried the equaliser (in fact I rarely use the app) but it should be simple enough I think. I'm assuming your Sony app is paired and shows your phone and laptop details? On your laptop does it have it's own equaliser? If so this would overrule your phone app and needs to be set to off.

I have a pair of Sony WM1000-XM4 and can confirm that the equaliser settings take effect irrespective of whether it's via the device that the equaliser is set on with the app (my smart phone in this instance) or another device without the app running on it (my Windows laptop in this instance).

I have just tried out the same piece of music via the smart phone then the laptop, first with a massive equalisation bass cut set in the app, then with a massive bass boost. The difference in sound was very obvious on both devices, proving to me that equalisation was being carried out in the headphones.
