Technics Touch-up
Discussion
I’m trying to find a readonably close match to touch up the tops of a few Technics separates.
The suggestions I’ve found so far are Birchwood Casey black paint intended for gun black repair, and an obscure Aston Martin colour touch up pen.
This made me think that Porsche Basalt Black Metalic which has a bronze tinge to it might be suitable, although it’s probably just as difficult to find as the Aston colour.
Help!

Porsche Basalt black is relatively easy to get.
Chipex will sell a kit including pens, applicators and wipes in the exact colour - last time I looked, they supply just the paint itself in small tubes for less than £20.
Slight warning. - the paint comes with an acrylic lacquer blended in so may be more glossy than the original Techinics colour.
Porsche themselves used to supply Basalt black touch-up kits (my car came with a kit) and that kit came with a tube of ‘colour’ and a separate tube of laquer.
Naturally, more expensive (because Porsche…) but they pop up on eBay occasionally or try ringing a local Porsche dealer - they’re normally helpful.

Thanks. I’ve got a Basalt Black 911 so that’s me preferred route. LC9Z is a VW colour too, which avoids the Porsche tax.
Accepted wisdom is that it has a midnight blue mica, but that sounds more like the black that my friend’s Cayenne is finished in. Parked side by side and catching the sun from the same angle, mine appears to have a bronze mica which is why I thought that it’d be good for Technics.
