Hello All,

Unfortunately my Panasonic plasma TV has died frown

I am going to purchase the Sony Bravia XR XR55A80L. John Lewis are offerng £200 pounds off the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar if I purchase both together, needless to say I am tempted!

Would any of you happen to know if the HTA7000 will fit under the TV? From the specifications listed, to me it seems not, since the TV stand in its sound bar postion is narrower than the HT-A700 soundbar but I thought I'd ask.

If I were to put the sound bar in front of the TV (with the stand in the sound bar postion) the total depth would be 1.9cm in excess of my 45cm cabinate I use. I am hoping the ~2cm wont matter but knowing my luck it will all fall over grumpy

I wonder if I can buy spacers for TV stands? confused

Thank you
FatVik

The soundbar ideally needs to be forward of the TV as it has 'up-firing' speakers for the Dolby Atmos.

The A80's have really good built in speakers...so you may not need a soundbar.

Indeed, I know I don't need one but for the times I fancy turning a film right up, it will be nice to have smile

Thank you, I hadn't seen that! Although, I have a feeling that is the larger model of TV.
We'll find out soon enough, hoping to collect this weekendsmile

That Sony must surely have a VESA compatible mount on the back so just buy a suitable adjustable stand such as . . .

Got the TV but unfortunately the soundbar was not in stock. Should have it by next weekend, however, I don't think it will fit..

Apparently ..........

"There are also little extenders in the box that can be added to the feet in order to increase the amount of space between the TV’s bottom edge and the surface upon which it’s placed so that a soundbar can be accommodated."

Have you found/fitted them? I find it extraordinary that a current TV and soundbar can't be used.

Ah! I have a feeling the bit they are talking about is what the instructions suggest is to be used to tether the TV to the wall when on a cabinet/table. I'll have a check to see if that will help... I think they (VS is the image) are only about a couple of cm but lets see
Thank you

Sound bar was delivered yesterday and unfortunately it does not fit under the TV. I will post pics in a bit.
The TV cabinet is too narrow to hold the TV and the sound bar so the bar hangs off the edge by a couple of cm.
I don't think this will cause any problems but if any of you think it might please let me know.
