just looking at sonos products to pair with my tv, and had kinda settled on the arc.

however seeing as the era300 does spacial audio, could i use a pair of these for tv audio in place of a soundbar? would it emulate atmos for example?

i do all my viewing via my xbox series x - either for gaming, dvd or streaming. i'm also a heavy spotify user. hence seems the stereo option would be better for me than the bar.

is it possible, or not designed for this? what other products should i be looking at? i've decided that i'll spend on a decent headphone rig for serious audio, so i'm not fussed about a high end audio or surround experience, just something that sounds good but is easy to use without dominating the stairs room. i'd tend towards better audio than home theatre if that's a choice to be made.

I guess you could use Bluetooth but not HDMI. I can’t see it working.

The Arc does Atmos and Surround channels in the one sound bar.

The Era cannot do video Atmos on its own, only when paired with certain other Sonos Soundbar products. An Arc can do Atmos on its own so that would be the best option for that use case.

The Era can do Spatial Audio / Dolby Atmos for audio, but currently only on Apple Music and Amazon Music.

Thanks. Did a bit of reading and watching YT reviews. Seems the era stereo pair could do tv audio but it won’t be Dolby.

I also found klipsch 5/6/9’s…

Guess I need to audition and then think which I’d rather have. Spatial audio seems to require a move away from Spotify.

Problem will be getting a demo. There is a local hifi shop for klipsch, so demo rooms etc, but no Sonos dealer for same.

Anyone here with a Sonos arc or a similar ‘convenience’ set up and how do you rate if for films and music?

Spatial audio doesn't need you to move away from spotify.

It is just that Spotify can't provide a Spatial audio format. It will still play out in stereo, or even all channels stereo as some AVR's can do.

If you are looking at the Klipsch 5's then also look at the SVS Wireless Pro that does something very similar.

A friend has Klipsch 5's which he loves, but it is still only stereo woth no upgrade / expansion options.
