Wonder if someone could help please, since last night my TV has developed a problem, see the pic below.
It started initially to do this last night just before I turned it off, the sound is fine but the picture goes with that kind of random dark bits of colour around the edges, it was late so turned it off and went to bed.
This morning I turned it on and it was working fine, phew I thought, nope a couple of minutes later the picture goes, the sound remains, turn it off, back on, again picture and sound are find but a few minutes later the picture goes again.
TV is a 55" Samsunch QLED, about 4 years old, I guess the panel is likely knackered?

Samsung currently offer a 5 year warranty but not sure about 4 years ago: you can still register your TV and find out if it's still covered though........

Thank you, just checked, it's 1 year, grrr.https://www.alphr.com/check-samsung-tv-warranty/
Thinking back I think I've only had it 2.5 years, anyway I'm looking into obtaining the invoice from where I purchased it and will go down the sales of goods act 2015 which has been mentioned here and also by a colleague.

Contact Samsung directly, nicely quote the CRA, tell them you’re a little disappointed.
They’ll want you to take/send it to a service centre and once examined and in the case of a total loss, which it 99.9% will be, then they offer you a credit against a new one.
I went through this process a few years back and Samsung were a pleasure to deal with, unlike those fruit based HomePod selling tnucs.

+1 I also had a very good experience with Samsung a couple of years ago when my PC monitor suddenly blew a chunk of pixels out of warranty. A no cost goodwill fix was offered after a polite phone call explaining my disappointment as a long standing customer with many Samsung purchases both before and since. To be fair mine was only a month out of warranty however, but nevertheless it was technically out and they were good to deal with.

How much credit did they give - I think they pretty automatically give 25%?They’ll want you to take/send it to a service centre and once examined and in the case of a total loss, which it 99.9% will be, then they offer you a credit against a new one.

I’d be wary of going in too heavy - unless it was bought off Samsung directly they have no legal obligation and even if you did, you’re not entitled to anything unless you can prove it failed due to an inherent defect. May be worth a bit of searching to see if this is a regular failure.
Mine was 3.5 years old, 6 months outside the original 3 year warranty that I got with it.
I didn’t buy it from Samsung directly, but they handled the whole process really well, but with a slight push when I explained how disappointed I was at such a premium brand having a premature failure.
The tv was £2.5k, it was a panel fault where half the screen was garbage, the service centre instantly wrote it off and an email from them was enough for Samsung to offer me a credit. Although I can’t remember exactly how the credit was given I got 40% off the newest equivalent, which is still going strong.
