Sonos ERA 100 smart speaker
Discussion
The reviews are excellent but at £100 more than the Sonos 1 it is quite a leap considering where and how people place these. I bought a Sonos 1 a month ago, looked at an Era 100 but for what I wanted and needed the newer Era 100 was not worth the extra. For a bigger room or to accompany a soundbar yes but for a study or bedroom somewhat excessive.
I haven't bought one yet, but am considering it for the USB-C line-in to connect an external source to the rest of our Sonos system - it's a cheaper* way in than what has been offered previously (Sonos 5 or Amp)
(*)for a new one, anyway - could probably pick up a second hand 5 (Gen 3) for similar money now

How are you finding the one? I’m looking at the one gen 2 for the kitchen, does it sound good?darreni said:

I find the sound more than adequate but mine are on a small stand not on a flat work surface and also at a slight angle. It helps project the sound upwards. The new speaker I am sure offer certain benefits but for the cost and hours of use I don’t need it. If I wanted a bigger sound I will go in a very different direction and into stereo too. If you get a Gen 2 buy a small stand.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
