Noise cancelling annoying neighbours
Discussion
I've got Bose 700.
They do a great job of blocking colleagues who insist on shouting their way through endless Teams/Zoom calls.
I went for the Bose over the Sony you mentioned as they apparently have much better noise cancelling on the microphone (meaning I don't pick up said colleagues if on calls myself).

Hi all
has anyone used noise cancelling headphone/buds whilst in their garden to successfully drown out f*****g music from their next door neighbours bloody kids?
If so which ones? Sony WH-1000XM4 seem a good bet.
thanks
My advice on how to deal with annoying neighbours; 'get a new patio';)has anyone used noise cancelling headphone/buds whilst in their garden to successfully drown out f*****g music from their next door neighbours bloody kids?

Sony XM4 have good Noise Cancelling, the foam buds need to be a good , tight fit. Three sizes come with them to choose from.
The automatic 'ambient noise' pass through when you speak yourself is useful to have conversations without taking them out / turning them off etc.
Have read how the Bose have better NC but find the Sony just fine on trains, and walking alongside busy roads.
I've previously used Bose QC over ear models (a few years ago) and can imagine the technology has improved across the board.

Using my WH-100XM4 right now as I type. They are very, very good. I have had various Bose and cheaper alternatives before these but these are better. They take a bit of figuring out as the finger slide adjustments are rather hit and miss but once sorted they are great. I mainly listen to dance and house on mine, the bass is great. I also use them for podcasts and Waze navigation when I am driving my Elise which is mighty noisy. Battery life is outstanding. All round highly recommended.has anyone used noise cancelling headphone/buds whilst in their garden to successfully drown out f*****g music from their next door neighbours bloody kids?

You need to fix the cause. Find out how the music is being received if possible. Hopefully they're streaming over WiFi and you could in theory buy a WiFi/Cellular jammer...they apparently work very well, but I wouldn't know because it's definitely not something I would do cos it's illegal, yeah, no, no siree

Now that I like. Only thing with Bose is if you do use them for music, then you want to hear midrange as well. I swapped a pair for Sony MX4s and the difference is absolutely night and day in terms of music quality.
'Highs and lows, it must be Bose' as they say...
Earplugs or a box of matches may be a cheaper solution. Sound deadening arguably a better one and a chat with your neighbours arguably the best.

I've had both the Bose and the Sony's.
I just couldn't get on with the fit and comfort of the Bose, so the NC and sound quality wasn't that great for me.
The Sony's fit much better and as has been mentioned, the NC is good and sound great. I did buy some Comply foam tips for them as well, which make them very comfortable. The supplied silicone tips are ok, just prefer the foam ones.

Funnily enough I put some foam earplugs in at the weekend and seem to work pretty well. shouldn't have to do that to enter your own garden I feel but hey ho.'Highs and lows, it must be Bose' as they say...

Chats with these sort of people never really works does it.
You're first line, are you saying Sony are better then Bose?
I've done a lot of air travel recently and the Sony WH-1000XM4s have been an absolute godsend. It's great being able to block out all the noise whilst sat in a busy departure lounge, or when sat on the plane a few rows from a screaming kid. It's also really good to be able to quickly tap the left bud to switch into ambient sound, allowing you to have conversations with people without having to take the buds out.
I got mine from Amazon Warehouse and I think they were only £125.
