Have a pair of Sonos Ones (set up as a stereo pair) which don’t want to work with Alexa - both factory reset, software updated, restarted etc, and both visible and added via the Alexa app. I’ve tried both as the Alexa speaker.

Should there be an Alexa option in the Sonos app under “Add a Voice Assistant”? The only thing listed is Sonos Voice Control (and adding that was the only way I found to make the speaker microphone(s) turn on or work from the speaker button).

Don't you have to do something with Alexa as well? Tell it about Sonos skills or something and give it permission.

Yeah, I’ve done that in the Alexa app.

Yes, but which "add a voice assistant" screen are you looking at? in the system or on the room as there are two ways of getting to it.

Settings > Services & Voice + Add a Voice assistant

Or Settings > System > (room name of One Pair) - Voice + Add a voice Assistant

Same in both - I’ve added Sonos Voice Control (which appeared to enable the microphone), but there aren’t any other options to select.

The Mic definitely isn't muted is it? I think white is on, green is off from memory.

No, it’s on, with the white LED (before I set up Sonos Voice Assistant, I couldn’t turn on the microphone on either speaker - assume that’s how it works).

Are they definitely Sonos Ones - not Sonos One SL's?

I think the SL's are not smart speakers and don't have microphones built in.

Yes! Sonos Voice Control works, but there’s no Alexa option.
