Just seen ikea have a new sonos remote, has anyone got one or is there something similar. Are they worth it, im mainly after something to just turn the volume up and down. Also it has a track skip button, how does this work - can I use it for spotify on my phone linked to sonos speakers?

It's only £20 so will hardly break the bank, but does anyone bother with these kind of remotes when they have the full Sonos app on a phone which will talk to Symfonisk products? It sort of harks back to the iPod shuffle. biggrin

It's more the volume I'm after just a quick way to do it instead of opening the phone or having to leave my phone around so others can control it. I think sonos have missed a trick with this and not had their own like they did 10 years ago.

If the Sonos app works with Symfonisk speakers then I guess there's a good chance that the Symfonisk remote will work with Sonos speakers. Time will tell if it's a runaway success.

From my time selling Sonos, I recall that the original CR100 remote price was often accompanied by a short intake of breath. The CR200 with it's PDA & touchscreen design was fine in its own right but never felt as intuitive as the 100. However, when the iOS and Androd smart phone apps launch the CR200 sales evaporated almost overnight.

In the Sonos ecosystem £20 is almost unheard of for anything other than a speaker bracket. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
