I'm looking for recommendations for a 65" tv to go on the wall in our lounge, almost exclusively for just watching sky, Netflix etc. Budget is max £2.5k

Like the look of the LG OLED65G26LA.

Can anyone recommend anything better for similar price point.

Thanks in advance.

At that price range I'd consider the Sony A95K and Panasonic LZ2000 which both perform better then the LG.

The Consumer Electronics show was last week with the release of new LG models along most other panel manufactures.

The flagship Panasonic is also very highly regarded

Depending on timescale you may wish to wait.

If you have a separate surround sound system then internal TV sound is somewhat irrelevant so consider whether any extra cost is worthwhile.

Ideal viewing distance for 65" is about 3m

I have a C1 of the same size and it's a great TV but have changed the room so my 3m has become a little over 5m so some picture detail is lost.

This is quite a useful distance guide.

As mentioned above

Panasonic LZ2000 is coming in at £2500
Sony A95K = £2900 (best in show OLED 2022)

NB Last years winner Sony A90J is knocking about at £1900

I have the Panasonic LZ2000, albeit only 55” and I’m blown away by its quality. The in-built speakers are very good too, and I no longer need a soundbar.

Whilst looking/researching for a new TV recently, I asked 3 retailers which makes did they see most warranty claims on; all said LG.

Could partly be that many multiples more of LG OLED's are sold than other premium manufacturers?

I say Could, as I have no evidence to back that up.

Actually, the other reason might be that they want to sell the models with the larger profit margin . . . wink

I'll use this thread to ask. . .

When do we usually start seeing any new range of LG OLED's released to retailers?

I'm deciding whether to wait for the release later this year & hoping there is a price drop on the 55" C2.

I went for the 65" Panasonic LZ2000 couldn't be any happier, had previous Panasonic OLEDs and they have always been very good.

At this price point I'm sure you will be happy with any of the TV's, it's just a personal preference on the minor things youre after.
