Sky Q box noisy

Noticed last night that the main Sky Q box in the living room was making a right racket. I assume either Hard drive or maybe a fan? I could even hear it upstairs in bed and ended up unplugging it.

Is it time for a replacement? It’s about 6 years old. How do Sky handle such an issue?

Give them a call or post on their forums. Likely the HDD is on its way out and needs replacing.

Mine does it quite often.
Just unplug and plug back in again.
Cures it every time.

Its a fan inside…… just getting a bit warm!!

I took ours into work and blew the dust out of it with an airline. Made quite a difference, for a year or so.
If Sky come out they will probably just replace it, and you’ll lose all recordings.
