A strange Christmas tale… a week or so before Christmas our trusty LG tv developed a vertical line on the panel. In fear of the thing conking out over Christmas we went and bought a Sony Bravia (XR77 A84).

It’s really good, great picture, great sound… however when you go into prime video you can’t actually buy on the TV… this has irritated the home boss somewhat as she likes to simply press “buy”. It seems you now have to buy on a pc or phone etc.

Prime is logged in with my account and obviously I don’t want to log her into my Amazon account as she has been known to create bills into the four figure region hehe

Is there a simple way to get the “buy” button going on the TV app?

Dunno, I noticed this the other day as well. Did you resolve it?

You beat me too it, they do run android. I found the above over Christmas aswell.

Seems pretty strange though that the Sony didn’t work with Amazon to get some decent integration. It has a “prime” button on the controller.

It’s pretty irritating actually having spent 3k on a tv. I think another alternative will be to upgrade our sky Q box to UHD and access prime through that.

It's an Amazon-Google issue, not Amazon-Sony

Yep. Pain in the arse.

TV won't let you buy/rent and the only way to do it on your phone is to actually use a browser rather than the Amazon/Prime apps.
