I’ve recently had a cinema room added at home, 5.1 with additional 2 Atmos speakers in the ceiling.

When it was set up I had the skyq mini box connected and it became apparent shortly after that only the main skyq box support Dolby atmos (not the mini box).

Is it worth rerouting the cabling and switching the boxes around ?

Yes, I'd also do it for 4k 10bit as mini boxes are only 1080p

Yes, for sure.

Or if you IP / Broadband Service is good, maybe look to switch over to Sky Stream.

It ok, but not great, so suspect relocating the aerial is the better option and isn't a massive job anyway (hopefully).

Never even thought of this when doing the set up.

As you're on an aerial I can thoroughly recommend BT's Youview Pro Box. Like you we've always had issues with the aerial. Fitted the Pro Box without the aerial plugged in and it's been a revelation with the added bonus of Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Just thinking about this a little more, as I've only recently moved house (last couple of months), would I be able to book a Sky engineer to do the necessary works in relocating the aerial/main box ?

Contacted a local company who do such works, and an engineer came around this morning to give me a no obligation quote for doing the works. £110 seemed a reasonable price, and the works were done there and then, so now have full 4k & dolby atmos in the cinema room for the kids who have broken up from school.

SKY is pretty poor for 4K content. For everything not on an actual SKY channel, you are much better using a Firestick, Roku etc, than the apps via SKY.
