Walk bracket when increasing TV size
Discussion
I have a very specific and short term problem.
Have just renovated a house and have a wall niche in the wall designed for a 75” TV.
Want to put a wall bracket up in this niche and fit my current 65” Sony TV up.
But when I swap for a future 75” TV will the mounting points still be proportional, ie I want a 100mm gap all the way round the edge of the 75”. if I set the bracket such that the gap is equal on the 65 (say 125mm) does Sony design mounts so the TV grows from them proportionally?
Hope this makes sense
I can of course mount bracket correctly for 75” and have a lopsided gap for the 65 temporarily but just curious

If we're talking about the space to the laft and right of tge screen Edge, then yes, the mounting holes on the TV will be central for both TVs.
The hole spacing on each TV conforms to VESA standards. Sony gives some general guidance here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/...
but you should refer to the TV manuals for both sets to confirm the actual layout for each.
Universal TV wall brackets cover a wide range of VESA patterns for horizontal and for vertical hole spacings. You'll be able to adjust the TV wall heights according to the screen height for each set.

I would actually out money on the fact you will have to move the bracket for a perfectly positioned gap all the way round.
As others have saide. Whist VESA dictated the hole spacing it does not dictate where they are on the back of the telly.
LG's OLED are all really low on the frame.
Samsung and some others tend tk be quite high. All are centred so left right should be fine.
Unless you have sliders, which is rare now, most brackets have predefined holes on the vertical arms mounted to the tv.
There was one bracket manufacturer the gave you top adjustment screws on the hangers that could be used to get spot on level but also subtle height adjustments. Honestly cant remeber who they were though.

Yep, staying within brand gives you the best shot.
But even then it can be totally random. They will always be centered on the width of the tv, its the height that can be the challenge.
The unlltimate bracket would have slots rather than holes, which they did have, but i guess people didnt tighten them enough and screens slid. Not woth holes, no sliding but also no infinite adjustment.
