Looking to add a Sonos Beam to the TV setup in my snug and wonder if it’s worth me saving a few £££ and going for the Beam Gen 1?

The room is a decent size and actually open plan (rather than a cosy snug) but this means the Beam will be used 50% for music (DAB/Spotify) and 50% tv (general viewing rather than films).

Given my intended usage will the Beam Gen 1 be sufficient given I do t see the benefit in having Dolby Arnos etc and the mixed music/tv usage.

Luke.

I find my Beam 1 very good and powerful for the size. I have it paired with two rears. Also hoping for the new sub from Santa hehe

I use it mainly for TV, films and PlayStation. It also works well with Spotify etc.

One of the best things is the app for calibrating the setup and adjusting levels on each speaker.

Overall, as good, if not better, than my previous Onkyo 5.1 setup.

I have a Gen 1, just ordered the sub mini and considering putting some rears in as well just to see how they go.

I think it's really good fro the money, try and do the trueplay tuning, I found it made a big difference to the sound on mine and stopped it sounding too flat.

Thanks all and I’ll look to grab a Gen 1 beam for now, plus look to add the new Sub mini later.
