Hi all,

My current TV is approx 8 years old. It’s a 55inch Panasonic full HD paired up with a Sky soundbox which is 4 years old. Lovely picture but it’s time for me to upgrade to 4K.

I have no idea where to start as there are hundreds on the market it seems. I want 55 to 60 inch, the best I can get for my budget, and I’m also wanting to pair it with a soundbar. My Sky soundbox is good but I feel like I want to refresh this and stick to one brand for both for easy connectivity etc. My viewing habits is mainly just Netflix and I have a PS4 Pro which I rarely use but I may be more inclined to use it and make the most of its capabilities.

Surely there’s some good Black Friday/cyber Monday deals around? Budget £1k-ish with a little creep if required.

Your help will be much appreciated.

I'd be looking at a Samsung TV and a SONOS Ray for that money.

TV stock is very low in the UK at the moment with the world cup coming up and still some manufacturing delays. The black friday deals all kicked in early as it makes no difference to the retailers really.

Agree about the Samsung route (I'm biased as that's the route I took) Take a look at this model.................

As regards the soundbar they do a freebie that keeps within your budget but my recommendation would be the £225 off offer and match it with a Q series soundbar but not the Q60B as from memory that one doesn't support their wireless rear speakers. With the Q Symphony you can play the TV speakers along with the soundbar and rears - combined with Dolby Atmos the sound is amazing.

Edit: I bought the 8K version

If it was my money I'd buy the best OLED within your budget - my preferences being LG or Panasonic.

Then save up for the January sales & sort out the sound side of it then.

Some good deals on last years OLEDs at the moment if you did go that route.
