OK, a quick question for you knowledgeable folks.

My main HiFi system is in the living room and I have a Bluesound Node 2i as part of it (which I rarely use TBH).

I also have a set up in the gym for playing CDs when going through hell on the treadmill / bike / rowing machine / chose you instrument of torture!

The gym set up includes an old Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 amp coupled to a pair of Kef Eggs in the walls.

Is there a relatively cheap and effective way of linking this gym system to the Bluesound Node 2i in the living room so that I can stream music to the gym and use the phone app to select the tunes? Some sort of plug in box that goes in to one of the amp inputs for instance?

Possibly a dumb question but I don't really want to spend big bucks on the gym set up if I can do it cheaply and utilise the Node 2i.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Or maybe I am over thinking this by trying to use the Node 2i instead of just getting a separate device and linking it to my tidal account?

Something like this maybe - or am I missing something obvious?

I just bluetooth some music from my phone to the amp and speakers.
I don't see much benefit in involving the audio systems in other parts of the house.

Works for us, Not right for everyone I'm sure!

If you don't use the Bluestream much in the lounge then is there any reason you can't relocate it to the gym?

The logic is strong with this one! Fair point.

Actually I have not been 100% happy with the sound quality of the Bluesound in my main Hifi - which is much higher end than the streamer - and I have been idly considering splashing out on a top end streamer for the living room, which would indeed make the Bluesound redundant.

But then I fall in to the age old trap of putting a £500 streamer in the gym and replacing it with a £1000+ streamer in the living room - which is the opposite of not spending load of cash!

Hmm. Tempting though.

If you’re not happy with the Bluenode then relegate it to the gym. If you buy a cheaper streamer for the gym you’ll no doubt end up upgrading the bluenode anyway then you will have spent more money on an upgrade.

I was lucky and have 4 chromecast audios, you can get them from CEX ebay etc still but they command a bit of a premium. They are damn good tho
