Redoing my lounge soon and in the market for TV mount with a good amount of adjustability please? I would normally go for a fixed mount but we'll need to rotate the TV sometimes for the kids to use the Kinect with the XBox!

Which plane do you need it to adjust in? Horizontal rotation or up down tilt or lateral shift? Freestanding or fixed to the wall?

Fixed to the wall, needs to tilt (albeit not very much) but swivel at least 45 degrees.

If it can extend out from the wall even better.

I just used this for a 42" TV in the corner of our new sunroom:

https://www.costco.co.uk/TVs-Electronics-Security/...

For our purposes we don't need to adjust the tilt - I set it slightly tilted down and adjusting it wouls need a thumbscrew to be undone and retightened - but it swivels and moves in and out fine.

It has two fixings to the wall (dot and dab platerboard, then blockwork) which have 8.3mm holes - I used 8mm Rigifix fixings after seeing them recommended on here and they're certainly extremely substantial.

I did look at a Pearson mount too which I think will tild with just friction but it was nearly £200. I think one difference is the dearer ones go back flatter against the wall - in my case I didn't need that.

This one has been on my radar for a few weeks, but never heard of the brand (as is usually the case with amazon):

If you want something a bit better than the Amazon stuff then look at Unicol. They won't be £40 though:

LucidAV must deal with this sort of thing so maybe he will post something.

Look at anything in the Sanus range.

Well made, good fixings and an excellent mounting guide to help you set it on the wall.

This is one of only two brands we use for installs and the other is more expensive by a chunk.

I'd second that - solid, well made, good looking, easy to install, decent articulation, nice movement.

I've done 4 x houses over the years and have hung a lot of TVs. I've had my fair share of cheap/generic/Amazon stuff and concluded it's a false economy.

I just go straight for Sanus these days.

Adam.

What's the recommended Sanus model for a 65" TV that swivels (tilts less important) and is as flush as possiblke to wall?

thanks

Depends on how much swivel you want.

The bigger the tv, the smaller the swivel because of the distance it need to pull out from the wall to twist fully.
