So, the usual hassle with virgin media trying to renew.

Basically we have the full package.

But we don't watch sports, movies, kids, netflix, nor use the sim, nor need the additonal box.

The best they could come up with was the same price after removing all of that unused stuff. They just say no deals as you are downgrading.

So i cancelled with affect in 30 days.

Will they ring back and offer me a better deal (ie comparable to a new customer)?

Or will i have to wait a month and have my partner rejoin under her name?

Thanks.

They rang me back a day or so later last time, you should be good for a decent offer.

After all we can’t do any better nonsense I cancelled. They rang me back 2-3 days later, saved £40 ish a month and an upgrade to faster broadband,

I'm actually doing it for my elderly parents.
They don't want to change and have new stuff to learn.

I ended up having to take the full big package again at the same price.
Despite not anti g the sim, netflix, 2 boxes, sports, cinema or kids.

After doing this every 18 months for years, i despise virgin media and will never use them myself.

I quit without trying to negotiate and they never called me back. Probably just as well as I’d have given them another rant.

My 200mbps was going to jump from £35 to £45
Retentions was painful, very best £37

I gave 30 days notice.

A few working days later was called by a nice Scot’s lady. £24 a month.

I was happy with that.

No interest in Virgin Tv. Cancelled SkyQ as didn’t need it. They too offered good dicount at the end, but freeview is all we need/watch

Same here. I was a customer since the blueyonder days (something like 18 years). I cancelled when they "upgraded" my internet and it because unusable.

They didn't do anything to try and keep me as a customer other than tell me sky wouldn't be able to supply suitable speeds. Sky has been massively better.
