Best 50-55” TV around £550

Hi all

As a guy who used to work for a well known high street retailer in their television department, I can’t believe that I’m having to ask advice here however so much has changed so quickly in the world of TVs.

Essentially, I am looking for a 50-55” TV at around £550-£600, which ideally will have Full Array Backlight

Currently I have seen the below options
- Samsung Q95TD (2020/21)
- Samsung Q80A (2021)

Does anyone have either of these sets, and could provide a recommendation for their TV, or can anyone advise of an alternative set fitting the requirements above.

Rumbelows?

I tested these and the LG Nano (forget model number) but it has full array dimming/backlight. I preferred the LG, and it has better specs for gaming too (if that’s your thing).

I've got an LG 55", think it's the 55UQ. It was £550. I like it a lot, the picture quality and sound are both excellent. Has airplay so it's a doddle casting stuff from my phone or iPad to it. No complaints whatsoever.

Pretty sure neither of those have full array local dimming. For that you need the Neo QLEDs, which are a lot more.

We recently bought a Samsung QN90A Neo (2021) for the office as a 4k customer viewing monitor, the picture is outstanding. We only use it like this and hooked up to an editing PC so I can't say how it works with over-the-air sources etc.

I have LG OLED55A16LA which is pretty good, a huge step up from the Sony it replaced. Richer said backlight is not a thing with OLED as they have self illuminating pixels or something.
Can't compare it to the Samsungs though as I've not seen them.
