Do you still run a plasma ?

Yep, 2x Panasonic Viera 37” and 1x Panasonic Viera 42”
Funnily enough I want to put the 42” up on a stand on a chest of drawers, rather than the big old base with glass shelves etc it comes on. I was surprised / annoyed / discombobulated that you can buy the stand for £40 or the entire telly and stand for, er, £40

Per above. Still have a 37" Viera going strong in one of the rooms, and I remain a massive fan of it - but I think it's sentimental.
The realities are it is awful on electricity, heavy, thick, and the picture does not stand up to a pretty boggo Phillips set at £750 we popped in the kitchen.
I had the pixel line issue after 3 or so months back in 2006, has been flawless since. But takes much longer to turn on recently.

Yes, I have a 42" Panasonic plasma, which a friend gave me a number of years ago when he moved abroad, a 40" Sony LCD (not even LED) which I bought for mum and has now reverted to me when she passed away, and an even older 28" Sony "HD Ready" TV which another friend gave me. I barely watch TV these days - just a bit of Netflix and Youtube while in bed, so the 28" is the only one which ever gets switched on. This might explain why I haven't bothered with 4K, OLED or anything made in the last 10 years. My only bit of tech is an old Roku 3 streamer so that I can play Netflix on the 28" TV. I don't even have an antenna to watch any broadcast TV and I'm perfectly happy that way.
I don't know why I keep the plasma TV really - it's in perfect working order, but I find it uncomfortable to watch. I find that the picture breaks up into the three primary colours when I move my eyes around the screen. I have to fixate my eyes on one point to prevent that happening, which is really quite difficult for more than a few seconds. For some reason, the LCD TVs don't have that effect. But then I also find that some LED lighting gives me headaches because I can see it flickering. I don't know if eyes have a refresh rate, but possibly mine are too fast!

Yup. VT 65 55”. The old king of TV’s.
Now have an Sony OLED and it is a step above tbh, but the Panny is still an awesome panel.
Yeah same, VT65 as my main and V20 in my spare room for consoles etc.Now have an Sony OLED and it is a step above tbh, but the Panny is still an awesome panel.
VT is calibrated and anything 1080p looks great and natural especially Blu-rays.
I'll probably stump up for Pannys top of the line OLED once I redecorate the front room.
It might be the L series or the next one on if they still are still going to make them.
Using a 50 inch Pioneer Kuro in the main bedroom. Was one of the last generation Kuro’s. Sons bedroom has a 2nd Generation 43 inch Kuro which is 720p
Both have a certain reality that my OLED TV can’t achieve. The image on the OLED is almost too sharp and makes programs shot in a studio look like they were shot in a studio. Outdoor programs at superb though and animation is just so bright and sharp it almost brings another dimension to the show

Panasonic TX-P 50GT60B - last year of the plasmas. (2012? 2013?)
Still a fantastic picture, still smart enough to cut it in the modern world IMHO. Had a scare a couple of months ago when it wouldn’t switch on, but a chap on ebay diagnosed and repaired the board in question for less than £100 so it fights another day.

We have a Pioneer Kuro KRP-500A which we use in our music/cinema room, which must be at least 13 years old. We also have another TV, a 50" 4k Panasonic, which we use for daily TV watching in our main lounge.
Yes, the 4K Panny has a better picture, but only with content from the past few years.
We prefer watching films and things like the F1GP on the Kuro.
