I need to update my TV as it's 10+ years old. Don't watch much TV tbh. So in looking for a new one I realise I've no idea what I'm buying, so would appreciate some help.

From the space it's to fit in, 32" is the limit, it's need to be smart, and I've always had Panasonic (and Technics) which have lasted well.

From that I've narrowed it down to 2 options.

Or the more expensive https://www.johnlewis.com/panasonic-tx-32fs503b-le...

I know the cheaper one is £199 on Amazon, and some of the reviews aren't great. But what am I getting extra for the more expensive one, just Freesat? I don't have a sat dish (as you may have guessed lol)

Thanks, from a TV Numpty. smile

Traditionally i have found Panasonic to be quite clunky on thier interfaces and online services. But it is personal choice.

Was in JL earlier today and the have a 10% saving on LG for new and current JL members.

Personally, I'd talk to Richer Sounds,, ask what they've got.
A lot of TVs have pretty dire audio, so if you can listen to what you're buying in a civilised environment, that's a big bonus.
Also they do a 6 year warranty.

Trying to buy a TV from the likes of Curry's is a horrid experience, all the sets in the shop are showing stuff like cartoons which give you no idea whether the colour is any good. JL is a bit better.

Personally I think Sony are generally better than other TVs.
If paying a bit more means you don't need a soundbar, that's good IMHO.

Personally, we watch next to no live TV, so 'smart' and a HDD recorder box is essential these days.

In one respect you seem to be getting less with the more expensive one, as it is 720p rather than 1080p.

I didnt know they still made 720p televisions eek

Not much I can add, but I have two Panasonic televisions. One of them has an anti-reflective coating on the screen and I find this a considerable improvement when watching in the daytime.
