I'm struggling with a new LG TV. The Panasonic HDD box appears to be triggering the TV power when it records a programme. The other knock on is that the amp then switches on as well.

Not the best thing at 2am! laugh

I know it's supposed to switch on when I switch on the HDD, but the HDD is still triggering the TV when recording while it's 'asleep'. The previous Sony TV would only fire up when triggered fro the HDD power.

I can't find anything in the manual, other than the setting that I've got to power up when requested.

Check if there is a firmware update for the HDD recorder possibly? Does sound like it might be sending out a small enough signal as it powers up to record to trigger a more sensitive TV to turn on.

Could try disabling ANYNET+/CEC/SIMPNET etc., the name varies but its the communication over the HDMI cable between devices, either on the recorder or the TV. Or there may be a specific option for powering on the TV when one of the connected devices is powered.

I've looked at that and consider me a lazy b*stard, but I do like the convenience of switching all three on together. If I disabled the Simpnet for the HDD I'd has to get off my fat ar*e to switch it on laugh

Is it connected through the HDMI ARC and if so, have you tried one of the others? I know nothing but the TV turns on the soundbar automatically if the ARC is used.

No - the amp is through the ARC connection
