I have a Phillips 4k HDR (43PUS8505) TV connected to a Phillips B97/10 via eARC

the TV has android TV built in so am using the various apps to stream content from Disney+ etc.

All works brilliantly, however with the Plex app I'm never 100% I'm getting the correct audio though, I've a copy of Dune which outputs Dolby Atmos audio and sounds absolutely superb.

However I also have a copy of BladeRunner2049 which according to Plex is TrueHD. When playing this audio the small display on the bar shows PCM, rather than Atmos as on Dune, or Surround Sound on other films.

The manual for the soundbar is pretty rubbish and gives no idea of what PCM is and whether is means I'm just getting stereo or pesudo surround sound, or the full monty etc.

any advise much appreciated!

PCM is stereo.

From the manual (https://www.download.p4c.philips.com/files/4/43pus8505_12/43pus8505_12_dfu_eng.pdf) you need

Settings > Sound > Advanced > Digital out format.

Set it to Multichannel (bypass)

This should output the audio channel to the soundbar unprocessed and let it do the processing.

It's set to multichannel bypass, before I did that I didn't get Atmos when playing Dune
