Decisions on 85" TV - Samsung QN85 or Sony X95J?
Discussion
Hi,
I had bought a QN85 Neo some time ago for the loft. But had to delay it as we had electric issues up there. Back to the drawing board.
Just seen Currys have dropped the X95J to around £3k.

I am unsure what to do as i have ALWAYS gone for the Samsungs.
Does anyone here have any solid advice? Having seen the reviews on the X95J i am seriously contemplating it. FALD and multiple HDMI 2.1 ports and so on, its crucial the blacks are on point also
Thanks

Just been through this process - spend days reviewing articles and watching on line reviews! In the end I remembered a saying a 'old decorator' said to me when choosing wallpaper in about 1982! - 'the quality remains long after the price is forgotten' - I often use this in my 'man maths' discussions with my wife! Anyway bought a Sony A90J 83' and it is awesome - price is irrelevant now! Even the HD footie is worlds apart and 4K Bluray well - something else!

Cheers, glad to know it's not just me going back and forth again on what to get. The A90J is superb. That's the OLED I gather
We’ve had a QN85 for a few months that replaced a projector and screen after the pj failed in lockdown and whilst was in warranty still (6years at the excellent Richer Sounds) they could not get it fixed. So they offered a full value credit and with the panel on sale price too, it was a ridiculously cheap cost to change. It’s in a home cinema set up, and I only really went with it as I could not find a suitable long throw projector.
Wasn’t expecting too much, but I have to say, it’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve become a big fan of Samsung tvs last few years, but when I opened the box out on the drive, I thought WTF have I done.
They’re bloody big and heavy, not easy to install at all but now it’s in, and stable, it’s great. It did take a while of messing about with the settings to get it to work with all the sound system, controllers, fire tv, sky etc, and picture set up for fast moving sports is fickle, but perfect now on one setting, but overall, well chuffed with it.
And it is bloody big for a tv!
