Goodsell Tuner
Discussion
Anyone able to offer some information on what the application of this would have been? Shed & garage clearance of my late father-in-laws 'stuff' & this was on a shelf. No reason I can think of he would have had it apart from being in buildings maintenance & a hoarder (worst combination?) so probably thought he could use it somewhere.

Goodsell were a UK manufacturer based in Brighton. I think they may have gone defunct some time in the '80s. They made gear for the schools and education market. You mentioned buildings maintenance; is there any connection their with educational establishments?
From the late 60s, the BBC broadcast a range of radio programmes on what's now Radio 4 FM specifically made for the schools market. I remember listening to an episode of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in junior school in 1979. The unit you have there would have been just the sort of ruggedised device required for life in the hands of ham-fisted school teachers. Connections for a tape recorder (cassette or reel-to-reel) make sense for recording an playback.
