Benq country compatibility Q

Is there anyone here who can advise as to the compatibility of a projector purchased in the U.S. being fully operational in NZ?
I pulled the trigger on a Benq projector and it's about to be shipped but it suddenly occurred to me that there may be an issue that I'd rather avoid before it's posted and all the hassle I'll have in potentially having to send it back.
The Benq model is the HT5550, which I believe is rebranded as the W5700 in NZ. I can't find a definitive answer to the difference/s that model change makes, but the seller has stated the following:
AC Input Power 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz
I managed to glean the following information to a general question (not projector specific) about the differences and came up with this:
'New Zealand operates on 220 – 240 volts A.C., 50Hz. U.S. equipment that requires 220 volts will not work in NZ, sorry. The reason is a bit technical (US dual phase 220 Vs NZ single phase 220) but the simple explanation is that US 220V is not the same as NZ 220V.'
Anyone have a clue?
