I had ordered a Sammy 80T and it fell through last minute due to stock confusion. I had a great discount also.

Anyway budget is around £3K tops and essentials are HDMI 2.1, 120Hz and deep blacks and decent brighntess and ideally FALD, oh and 85inch as its going into the loft conversion we just had done. I have always been a Samsung person, but right now would consider anything which has a decent GUI also

Am i asking to much?

Costco membership or a friend who has? If not worth the puny online membership which is cheaper than store access.

LG 86NANO866PA is running at £2600 if it's any good to you but you'll need to squeeze in an extra inch as it's 86"
120hz and x2 HDMI 2.1

I've got the Q80T in 75in guise.

While not a proper TV nerd I've got no complaints.

Hi, cheers....i can get 20% off this one at Very.com. Sorely tempted, just pondering over the blacks and whether they are deep enough. I might go for this for sure...So the price i will pay for that 86" LG is £2119.15

Yes, was pissed off the sale didn't go through. I have a Q70R in the lounge hence go for the Sammy..

But the deal i posted above i can get 20% off the £2500 price. I mean the loft is gonna be cinema type room and gaming also.

Not bad value

Good price, the IPS panel of the Nanocell might not really be the best thing for you if the blacks are going to be an issue it seems, worth a read -

I went with an 85 Q80T, details in this thread:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Still stunning after a good few months. I had my eyes on a Sony for similar money, but was trumped by the viewing angles and screen reflections in a bright room being better rated on the Samsung.

Don't get too hung on paper specs - its very hard to tell the difference of minor rating variances. Also, you will likely never see two TVs this size side by side in your house be able to do a real world comparison - you are basically always getting a good TV and there is very little between most comparable models across manufacturers.

Thank you, great thread. I think I'll stick with the original idea of a Q80t potentially. Thanks again
