I rarely buy new tech stuff. They very quickly go out of date and I don't keep up with the latest and greatest anyway.
So I'm after a new telly. Still going to keep the 40in Panasonic Plasma which is probably now over 12 years old. That will be moved to the breakfast / kids area.

For the living room I'm thinking of getting a refurbished 55in OLED. Maybe the 1500B since that seems to have decent sound and there would be no need for a sound bar. I don't really watch a lot of telly and just want something with decent SD and HD viewing for sport and films and maybe something that could last for the next 12 years.

Has anyone else bought refurbed especially Panasonic?
PS I know about LG but I I'm kind of used to the way Panasonic do things.
Cheers.

"refurbed" has no real meeting here. The most common and returns that have no been fixed. As such some bit will have been replaced and the unit tested. Should be good value but do check prices as often the gap is less than expected.

if you watch a lot of SD then I would check you are happy with the picture quality. My LG OLED has a particularly poor quality on SD.

I replaced my 37". Panasonic Plasma with a 4K TX-40GX800B from the eBay Panasonic refurb store.
It's perfect, as new. Box was a bit tatty that's all.

There's a setting you can check to see how long the TV has been on, mine was a couple of hundred hours. I guess you could return it if you though it was too many.

eBay often do random 15-20% off promotions for certain sellers. Panasonic Outlet is often on there. I got a decent discount on my new TV

I've bought Blu-ray players and a soundbar from the Panasonic refurb store too. All been perfect.

If you rarely buy, it might be better value to buy brand new from Richer Sounds, Costco or John Lewis, who all increase the warranty to 5 years.
