I'm looking for some inspiration...
I'm going mad looking at the mess of wires connecting my TV setup. I'm looking for some ideas about cable management.
To bring some context, have about 12 devices connected from TV, Sky, AV, PS, Router, NAS etc and finding it really hard to keep it all tidy and managed.

What do you use?

Velcro.
Specifically, 10mm wide strips cut to length to suit the bunch of cables that I'm tidying. Easy to use to 'shape' cables for routing, or remove as you add / replace kit or dismantle to move house.
All of my speaker, source and power cables are grouped (not tightly) together down the back of my equipment cabinet, with the velcro at 10cm intervals.
I'm lucky to work in IT, so it was easy for me to source the stuff, but you'll probably find what you need in any shop that sells sewing gear, or maybe on the internets usual suspects...

Just use a cut to length sleeving like this. Available in different colours should black stand out too much

I have quite a complex AV setup and have always struggled with the vipers nest behind the TV.

Having just redecorated, I came up with the idea of a sheet of 6mm MDF (about 80cm x 60cm) mounted to the back of the TV using the VESA mounting holes - I attached the various gubbins to this board (three(!) 4-way power adapters, HDMI splitter, sonos, hue light strip, network switch, HD-BaseT receiver, power bricks etc etc). This keeps everything off the floor and hidden away, with a single power cable and a couple of network cables running to it. Any HDMI or DC power cables that need to be routed into the cabinet are bundled in a single large split conduit tube, and obviously HDMI and network to the TV is easy.

Some would call it genius, but I wouldn't be so modest smile

I use the spiral stuff like this for my computer

Easy to double up cables that are too long and to split out wires part way along or Y shaped bindings. Of course as soon as you get it all neatly wrapped up you'll want to change something...

Velcro wraps are good for stuff that might change more often though.

For truly permanent installs the mesh stuff is good. You can do one end really neatly, cable typing it on and then folding it back over so the cab;e tie is on the inside, but the other end won't be quite as neat as the cable tie needs to be on the outside.

Moving house soon and really tempted to do this in the new place biggrin

Thanks all, appreciate your ideas!
I've gone with the velcro straps as a starting point, as I can use them for other things too!
However, the idea of mounting behind the TV is smart too...will into that as well.

Will be good to post some pics to help everyone as well. I'll start at the weekend

I bought really short HDMI cables, they don’t cost a fortune and makes things much neater and a better starting point to keep tidy.

Cut the power plugs off everything and fit new three pin plugs on super short power cables.
