Can my Sony kd-49xf9005 support 120hz/120fps for Xbox?
Discussion
Morning All,
I mostly play Battlefield 5 at the moment and having seen a load of info about the update to support 120fps I thought i'd see what the fuss was about. Alas I can't seem to get my Xbox Series X to do it.
Google tells my the TV (Sony KD49-XF9005) can support 120hz, but the xbox is saying it doesn't. I've tried manually going to the video fidelity menu and changing from auto to HDMI. This then allows me to select 120hz back in the main display settings, but the screen goes blank.
Any advice on whether i'm barking up the wrong tree here? Can this TV support the 120FPS update?

I did a bit of Googling and found the following from RTings. Could it be that some of the extra options are getting checked causing the black screen?

Currently Sony TV's do not natively support 120 Hz input, but most 120 Hz Sony TVs can properly display a 1080p120 signal when it is sent with a forced resolution. To do this on the Xbox One X and Xbox One S, change the Xbox's connection type from Auto-detect (Recommended) to HDMI:
Xbox > Settings > Display & sound > Video fidelity & overscan > Display > Connection > HDMI
Unfortunately in this mode 4k and HDR aren't possible, but 120 Hz now appears as a possible refresh rate for the Xbox. Because of this tradeoff the forced mode is only recommended when the higher refresh rate of 120 Hz is more important to you than 4k or HDR.
Misc. Troubleshooting:
During the process of changing these settings many checkboxes in the Xbox's Video modes menu will become unchecked, so before leaving the settings menu be sure to re-enable any features you need. A word of caution: the 3D option may become possible to enable even when the TV doesn't support 3D; enabling 3D in this case will cause the screen to go black for ~15 seconds until the Xbox times out and reverts the change, so don't be concerned if this happens.

Yep thanks this is what I was trying but the screen goes black and never comes back (waited a good 10mins each time)
I suspect for playing games the 4k is much better than 1080p @120fps but it would be nice to try out.
Manmaths may mean I start looking for a new tv but wifey will kill me
