New telly time Panasonic or?
Discussion
As per the title really, only used as a monitor as we have a separate tuner and audio. (although built in smart+tuner would be useful as a back up)
47-50" always had Panasonic, used to the remotes and all our other kit is Panasonic. Should we stick with what we know or is there better value out there?
We want a good picture and around £500 budget.
ETA looks like plenty of brands I've never heard of emerging onto the market
Are (for instance) Hisense any good?

Are Panasonic TVs still made by Panasonic or are they essentially Vestel based now and just using the name such as Toshiba, Hitachi, Sharp, and JVC?
I believe only their lower models were made by Vestel, I think they brought them all back in house though.Easiest way to check is look at the back label, should be made in Czech Rep if genuine, if it was made in Turkey then will be Vestel

Well we wound up with the Panasonic 55" just under £50!0.
Not sure what to say reallly. Not obtrusive when off, took a bit of fiddling to get a decent picture, and occasionally goes green. Swapping inputs puts it right again.
Cheap and cheerful I guess.
I would not be happy with that. You shouldn't have to change inputs to make it work again. Not sure what to say reallly. Not obtrusive when off, took a bit of fiddling to get a decent picture, and occasionally goes green. Swapping inputs puts it right again.
