Has anyone invested in a power feed directly from the generating station yet ?
Sorry, I don’t understand; do you mean there’s anyone left who hasn’t done this? But isn’t the gauge a little bit on the thin side?

I'm aware of the odd Japanese enthusiast who has installed a dedicated feed from 'the pole' (with his own transformer).
A bit extreme IMHO!
I have come across people who have installed dedicated mains circuits and/or have dug out a hole for a serious earth spike. A bit extreme IMHO!
And, in a confessional mood, I did once run a 45 foot air pipe so that the pump for my air bearing tonearm was located in a shed a long way from my listening room. (It was inaudible but I condensation problems instead, as the shed was cooler than the house, natch).

A dedicated mains feed can be very worthwhile ‘if’ the ring you’re using is picking up noise from fridge-freezers etc. Me? Never bothered. Friends with very nice set ups? Nope, not them either. Expensive you say? What about this....
I believe it's this cable...
https://www.audiomagic.eu/en/nuforce-high-end/ster...
€78,000 for a 2.5M pair.
EDIT: My initial thought was that this was a photoshop job, but then I found a picture taken from a different angle...
The bends in those cables are a bit tight. How will the electrons get round without the inside ones overtaking the outside ones?I believe it's this cable...

They spin in a helical pattern, so travel equal distances. But, They spin clockwise in the + lead, and Anti-clockwise in the - lead. Just saying.

With all the off-grid storage options available now it must be easy enough for the determined to have a dedicated bank of batteries and inverter dedicated to audio. That's got to be less stressful than worrying about whether the neighbours fridge is messing with your SQ.
Then we get into the notion of the inverter, cables, all the various bits of switchgear contributing to the musicality of the performance.

On another forum, the resident audiophile (70% hearing loss in one ear, 50% in the other, espoused the benefits of fancy mains cables as offering a clear improvement in sound) said he'd built a battery rig to power his hifi, but found that compared to mains it was all very "flat" sounding, and suggested this was because batteries provide DC rather than AC - there therefore being no "movement" in the supply.I kid you not.

Why bother with an inverterThen we get into the notion of the inverter, cables, all the various bits of switchgear contributing to the musicality of the performance.
Your amp uses DC, just take it from the battery. Nothing with an oscillator to produce noise

On another forum, in a thread about cars, one member tried to tell everyone that he could feel the heat, yes… heat, of the light from a following car’s dipped headlights being reflected off his door mirror. I politely pointed out that this was unlikely, and he turned nasty, ignoring all commonsense points made by people. Then he went silent. So I won’t be taking hifi advice off of him! These people walk among us. I kid you not.
