I’ll be in KL over Xmas/New Years and may decide to have a suit made for my wedding next year (if it’s not too expensive).

So if anyone has any experience of tailors in KL or knows of one with a good reputation, please post their details.

Cheers

I've done a couple of suits at this chain called De Catano - http://www.de-catano.com/Contact_Us.aspx (all four branches are in the general KL area and they all send the measurements to the same cutting floor) - not super cheap, but not Savile Row either. I pay about £450 for a two-piece. There are cheaper and more expensive options, depending on fabric. Cut and fit are not outstanding, but very good. No complaints.

The guy I use has closed due to them knocking down central square, but my son used a guy on top of the escalator on first floor of Partama Comlex, sorry don't know name, and he was good 1100 Rm two piece. As long as you go to some one who does a fitting or two you will be OK, don't buy made in 24 hours with no fitting, cost is dependent on cloth, 450 pound sounds a lot Deadlock, no wonder you can't afford to buy my Lotus of me, your payning to much for suits!!!

hehe ... the man has his priorities all wrong there i think hehe

There are some good tailors down here in Singa if you are venturing down the highway ....

2 - 3 days to get a good job done usually.

You have a lotus up for sale...??? ears (not that I can possibly justify another car...)

To be fair, the material was rather nice...

Thanks for the replies guys smile

£450 is more than I was expecting, but like you said I suppose I could choose a cheaper cloth.

I'll probably try the Pertama Complex first as I think I know my way there (the missus definitely does!)... Then if I need to I'll try DeaDLocK's recommendation (probably the Petaling Jaya branch).

John, unfortunately I won't have time to visit Singapore on this visit as I'm only in Malaysia for a week... I was there in October taking my parents sightseeing - they loved the place (they said it's like London, just hotter!), but we didn't have time for much shopping frown

Antonio Petama is next to Sogo go in go up the escalator one floor there is a tailor on your right, my son used him he was good, sorry I am away fro Christmas tommorrow so no chance to check the name, If I'd seen this earlier I could have looked as I was htere on tuesday, getting my ski suit repaire at a repair shop on the next floor.
I'd avoid the tailers in KLCC they look expensive, and ship the stuff of the premisis so god knows where it is done and who does it, look for a shop that is family owned, and takes its time no 24 hour stuff. Try to bring your own patterns some of the stuff in the smaller shops is old, my wife tends to take a Armani or a Gucci book in with her.

Scary thought! Road legal? Ballpark price? Got no idea how these things are valued here - are we talking 15k or 100k?
