Race circuit to be built in Singapore
Discussion
Sure you long timers (read: old timers) here in Singapore probably know about this already (maybe someone has already posted about it?) but looks like things are moving forward for a proper track here in Singa. It won't host the F1, but will host the MotoGP hopefully.
Few updates I've spotted this morning:-

It is good news indeed, there were 3 origional tenders put in and i think the best one for the majority of people has won.
One of the bids was for an exclusive car club place (sort of like a One15 marina resourt) just for the lambo and dancing donky crowd but this lot are covering all angles.
From what i have seen the circuit design will be adaptable to everything from bikes to F2 to drifting to 1/4 mile drag runs and will be prety accessable to all.
I gather that it will still have a club element to it which (if it does not cost a fortune) i will probably be first in the queue for (unless Jon gets there before me, and his car is now faster than mine.... )
and its only 2km down the road from me
Here is the webiste http://sgchangi.com/ guess more to come soon.
Edit - just realised you had the official SSF link there
I recon that they will be aiming to open (or at least have the track active) in time for the 2011 Singa GP which is at the end of Q3 next year.
i cant wait!!!
hope i still have a quick car and a drivers licence by then .....

Hi John
Yes, exciting times if it all works out. I'll be keen to sign up from a bikers angle too and hopefully it won't be to pricey.
(You need to take me for a spin in that little blue number of yours soon )

Good, Sepang will not be so busy, I'd like to see the run offs before I make a decision to come down, Sepang is great because there is so much run off, another problem I'd have is getting there unless Singapore changes it laws on allowing me to tow the track toys in it will be anight mare changing tow trucks at the border.
Any one in KL for the F1?

Its being done out by the old rockwell site out hereAny one in KL for the F1?
Big flat chunk of reclaimed land with a nice wet run off at one end
Thought that Malaysian Rego'd cars could trailer stuff into singa just not the other way around ?! although could be wrong.
Anyway, have been thinking of buying one of the old WA registered Landies here that are licenced to tow!!
Sorry, gonna be in Thailand for the Sepang GP
