2nd hand cars Malaysia
Discussion
Hi John
look on http://www.motortrader.com.my/asp/search/index.asp
However your best bet is to try and get hold of the Motor Trader Magazine which comes out weekly on a Friday I believe. (On sale in Malaysia).
However bear in mind the adverts are so basic and descriptions are poo. Let me know what u are looking for and I will keep an eye out (I'm not connected to any garage in any way)
Good luck
ETA: Just seen your other thread mentioning crew cabs. Well I bought a Toyota Hilux earlier in 2009 brand new for RM96k, and the manual is RM91k thereabouts. SHould cost slightly less in Peninsular Malaysia where you would be bying from.
I often see 2007 Double cabs going for around RM70k in the classifieds

Keep us updated.
On another note about car buying in Malaysia, I recently left a deposit on a BMW 645i which was advertised as a 2005 645i, 18k miles on the clock.
After checking the cars history I found it was a MY2004 car, and when on its last recorded service in the UK it was 61,000 miles on the clock back in 2007, so something to note on BMW's etc from the private garages u see everywhere.
In the end I left a deposit on a brand new E Class Coupe (different to my initial choice I know) but wanna try something different. Not cheap tho at RM480k for the E200 Coupe and circa RM660k for the E350 Coupe AFAIK. Car due to be delivered in April.

Just as expensive if not more so here in Singa .... at least you don't have COE's to contend with too ...
BTW what are the road tax costs / bands in My?
Heres a link to a road tax calculatorBTW what are the road tax costs / bands in My?

Small cars are cheap, eg a 1600 cc car is RM90 for the year.
A Toyota Hilux Double Cab 2.0d is around RM380 per annum
If u have somethng with a 5 Litre engine tho private tax would cost RM11,130 per annum for private vehicle and circa RM32,000 per annum for company vehicle. This is west Malaysia. East Malaysia however is much cheaper.
I've heard of COE's dont know much about them but hear they're a pain in the arse

As said motor trader, web and mag are the same, just depends on the media you like, what you looking for, Look at R and J classic cars, run by Robert, usually has a few nice cars for sale, deals in classics and Range Rovers,
THe only reason I prefer the mag is coz of the inaccuracies of some ads online. eg I've seen a few 2006 911(996)'s for sale, some "cerreras", Porsche Boster so it makes searching a bit of a pain sometimesGassing Station | Asia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
