classic boat regatta at Raffles Marina, its an Anual event.
I have the dubious honour of being First Mate on a big old gaffer that is being crewed by a bunch of local school kids, a great laugh though and we even got a second yesterday!!!
So when do you get into the barrel? I have the dubious honour of being First Mate on a big old gaffer that is being crewed by a bunch of local school kids, a great laugh though and we even got a second yesterday!!!

Amazingly given that she is the biggest, heaviest (35 tons) and slowest in the fleet, we actually got a Second on one day !!! More by intimidation than anything else mind you!!
last count there is something like 15 murkylagers in Singapore ... and over 400 Gallardo's !!!!
People are not afraid to spend on cars, but then they get big tax rebates if you get the sale and export thing timed right, sometimes you can get a years free motoring out of your supercar, you just have to be prepaired to tie up a wedge of cash!
Absolutely knackered at the moment so only local drinking for me ... took the old Gaffer back round the island last night (10 hours) then done a days work ....
welcome to Singa!

So far enjoying the place - food is cheap which is the main criteria in life to keep me happy!
Seen a couple of 360's out and about, but none of the 400 gallardos!
For car spotting, go down Orchard Road of an evening, especially on Friday and you will see a veritable Supercar show outside every hotel! (may even see a cranky blue aircooler out and about!! ) Seen a couple of 360's out and about, but none of the 400 gallardos!
For good cheep food, if you are about Raffles Place, try going down Robinson Road to Lau Pa Sat, its an old Victorain market that is now a big food court, great grub at reasonable prices!
If you want to do some entertaining with collegues tonight, $88 inclusive at The Line, Shangri-la, Orchard Road gives you a briliant all you can eat buffet (top quality not sunday curry buffet) and unlimited wine and beer!

Some will, some wont.
I suspect that the Sunday Brunches in many hotels will be reserved long in advance or be 100% booked out for sponsor events.
The Line on Thursday will be usual prices and most all of the bars remained the same.
Actually lots of parties being planned, just done the shirts for Hooters, Brewerkz, Porsche and Audi F1 promo's and a few more lined up!
Will see if i can find out what stuff is going on!

My tickets arrived on Wednesday so am chomping at the bit to get over there now, maybe meet up for a beer or two, too. Will be with a couple of mates so hope to make a great weekend of the visit....I suspect that the Sunday Brunches in many hotels will be reserved long in advance or be 100% booked out for sponsor events.

They are already putting the track together. Suspect that they may be a bit more on the ball than last year when they closed all the roads off but for one night left a "service entrance" that a bunch of us managed to sneak through and start doing "hot laps" of the track.
I recon my porker was one of the very first cars to actually do a complete lap of the Singapore GP circuit!!
thanks for the tips. Plenty of interesting metal on show on Orchard last night, though the guy in the Maserati Granturismo got a bit tiring rasping down the street every 5 minutes! It's a Maserati son - have some class!
Watching them starting to put the track together late last night from my vantagepoint in the Stanford - shame I'm going to miss it - flight home tonight

TBH i don't smoke any more but there are more than enough bars where a growler is allowed. otherwise it is an outdoor culture anyway!

what is this smoking indoors ban thing???? It is the discression of the bar owner and his aircon service bill. (as long as food is not served)
