Guys,

Currently working as a Production tech for a large oil and gas company, but want to move my Family and I to Asia or the Middle East.

I understand due to the downturn at present things are not as healthy as the used to be, so I am just looking for pointers or a place to start.

Cheers
Billy

got a few more details? Have a few buddies out here (one of which i was just talking with down the boozer) who is looking for extra headcount.

Oil services and supply stuff, the likes of Caldive, LexMar, Sonardine etc.

In Singapore they are all mostly in the Loyang Industrial Estate or in the Loyang Offshore Supply Base.

Sorry John,

Should have been more specific. I work in the control room of a large refinery/perto-chemical complex monitoring plant conditions and ensuing the complex is operated within its design conditions. Rather than that of a production line.

ahh a bit away from my mates, they are part of the offshore crowd.

However, there is a lot of refinery / power station / plant stuff going on out here. guess the usual suspects like Brunell, Air and Orion can help.

Probably worth dropping a CV over to them, had a call not too long back asking if I was interested in a job, and a few other lads I know have jumped ship to them in the last 12 months smile

Oil and gas jobs and oil careers web site, have jobs at the moment os S E Asia.
My experience is that control room staff are mainly local or regional expats,
Best bet would be to get on a commissioning, or shut down job, (locals don't like the short term nature)and then manovour to stay on.

Ditto here.

Could always get in touch with the GCC NOCs, although without a family book you might struggle. wink
