Sure it will take a while for the rest of you lot scattered in Asia, Local and Expat but i am sure that all will find their way here eventually!!
I asked the kind people that are PH Management to give us a "region" as we tend to wander in and out of PH due to work, and also troll the boards at antisocial hours!!
So along with our Antipodean PH'ers we have our own little pit of pistonheads from the other side of the world!!!
(and yes, i may be a bit pished!!!)
Anyway ... to start where and what are you??

Been in Asia for just over 6 years now and enjoy the rawness of the place, plus theres no pc (correctness) out here, its as basic is it should be.

I do some consultancy work through a professional services company as a PM for some banks and oil companies. Also involved in trading of physical oil and the services industry around its extraction ... after a wile "localised" out here you learn to acquire several jobs!
and do as little work as possible within those jobs!!!
Just found this forum, good idea. I’m an expat live in Kuala Lumpur work in the Oil industry.
Good to fins ‘local’ place with like minded people. I’ve got a Sylva which I think is the only one in Asia, and a Locost, which is the only one on the road in Malaysia, although I know of two being built. Run the cars at Sepang.

Lucky fella, they wont let us type aprove those sort of cars in Singapore.
A mate of mine tried to get the Caterham type approved for Singapore, but the LTA just told him to go forth and procreate with himself!!
Taken the porker up to Sepang a few times, but the Johor Circuit is my local! (i am not that good!)

Not type approved just track cars, althought I'm working on getting the Sylva road registered as it is built and registered as a 1980 Lotus Sunbeam and was imported here as such. But it is so inpractical, 75mm ground clearence and a ceramic clutch don';t work well on Malaysian roads.
The Locost is apure track car, currently building another one to race in the Hong Kong Classic cars series runvat Sepang.
Also got a ZXR 9, next track day at Sepang is 26th October, for bikes still trying to find out if cars are on, I am in London that date, but I will be running the carsin the Support race for teh malausioan A1 round in November

Track day cars don't work very well in Singapore - trailers not allowed unless you are a registered haulage company!!
Although i know a few guys that keep weekend weapons in garages at Pasir Guidang!
End effect is i have as close to a track day car for my daily driver, means that the wife gets fet up with having her fillings rattled out all the time, but i am always grinning like an idiot!!
How much of a track day / classic sports car scene is there in Malaysia (i only realy know about the MSCCC) as opposed to hotroded ricers that are everywhere?

Live in Phuket, been here for 3 years now, before that 3 years in Jakarta (don't ask)
Have to say I also love the way of life here. No speed limits enforced. Main problems are getting parts for my impreza wagon, import duty is a killer, try GBP 85,000 for a new STi
. No theft problems out here either ( my last impreza in the uk got stolen)
Anyway thats it from me

Spent from early '95 to mid '01 bouncing around between Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur commissioning various buildings. Have spent the last the last seven years doing the same for various Biopharma clients back in Europe. Now, for my sins I find myself back in Singapore on a 12 month contract to commission a BioPharma facility.
On the motoring front, I still haven't found a car out here - see separate thread!

Work for a large US Software Company (Photoshop/ PDF) as a Revenue Recognition (SOP 97-2) Manager
Not driving as cars are so damn expensive and taxis are so cheap and realistically you can get anywhere in Singapore within a short time frame unless its raining !

Funnily enough, i will be lurking about for that too!!Have decided that this year i am going to watch the actual race on TV, but i plan to get a walking pass for the whole race weekend. Found that being able to just wander about all over the place through all the quali sessions and feeder races was better than the grandstand.
Having said that, it would seem from discussions that best grandstands are as follows ...

- Raffles Grandstand (can see T8 and T16 if i recall correct)
