Hi folks. I'm scheduled to be out in KL during w/c 20 Feb and will have to shoot down to Singa for a meeting one day. I normally just jump on an AirAsia and let Uber be my friend at both ends, but I'm a little sick of flying so much and with KLLC terminal being close to an hour out of town, I'm thinking about driving it for a change.

Does anyone know if you rent a car in KL (through Hertz or similar), does it come with the right insurance / autotoll etc for use in Singa?

Basic answer is no, it is not easy to cross the border in a hire car, get the aero bus, 65rm each way city center to center, that's much the best way, there is a good one from the corus hotel opposite klcc

yup, complicated driving hire cars between the two countries.

Its a very easy flight to Singapore, or if you are already staying in KLCC, the Aeroline coach takes about the same amount of time once you factor in faffing about with airport immigrations

And that is cheaper than the bribe when you are nicked for speeding by the Malaysian Police (as I found a few weeks ago)

Your negotiation skills are weak then young padowan ........ smile

Its usually a flat RM50, no matter what you drive / speed / rego ..... never had any price hikes in the SG registered 370Z or 911 .... smile

To be fair, they don't like Singaporean People Carriers for some reason .... lol!
