Heading to HK for work for the last week of March – usually stay at the Conrad or Shangri-La in Pacific Place but they are coming in at about HKD 6,000 per night which is way above what they normally are (approx HKD 2,500) but I can’t work out why? I thought it might be due to the Sevens but that doesn’t start until 7th April, so a whole week after I leave.

Anyone got any idea what might be pushing the price up so much?

I imagine plenty of people will schedule business trips the week before the Sevens.

Probably, but I'm flying out on the 25th and fly home on the 31st and I doubt people will do a fortnight in HK, just so they can go to the Sevens?

Probably Art Basel (29-31 March): https://www.artbasel.com/hong-kong - always popular and likely to fill up hotels in Central.
